On February 27th, 2010 the Elpis Foundation hosted the 1st Annual Strikes for Tikes Bowl-A-Thon at the Alexandria AMF Lanes, just outside Washington, DC. The event benefits Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) in Washington D.C. Caring for over 360,000 patients each year, Children’s National is the only exclusive provider of pediatric care in the metropolitan Washington area.
With nearly 100 bowlers and $14,000 raised, the Strikes For Tikes Bowl-A-Thon was a success, regarded as one of CNMC’s strongest first year events in history. With the help of corporate sponsor CGI, the Strikes For Tikes Bowl-A-Thon strives to build its relationship with CNMC and help fund the development and application of innovative new treatments for childhood illness and injury, specifically cancer research.
After the event, a reception was held for all who attended and supported Strikes For Tikes at Carpool Bar in Arlington, VA. The Elpis Foundation would like to thank all who participated and donated, and invite everyone to the 2nd Annual Strikes For Tikes Bowl-A-Thon in Alexandria, VA on March 26th, 2011.
