On March 26th, 2011 the Elpis Foundation hosted the 2nd Annual Strikes for Tikes Bowl-A-Thon in Alexandria, VA. With 60 bowlers and $12,000 raised in 2011, the Strikes For Tikes Bowl-A-Thon was another success.
The community event saw participants travel from up and down the east coast. Caitlin Brown of CNMC kicked off the event by speaking and letting attendees know the impact of money raised at this year’s event. In just two years, the event has seen 150 bowlers raise over $25,000 and continues to support pediatric cancer research at CNMC. With the help of corporate sponsor CGI, the Strikes For Tikes Bowl-A-Thon strives to build its relationship with CNMC and help fund the development and application of innovative new treatments for childhood illness and injury, specifically cancer research.
After the event, a reception was held for all who attended and supported Strikes For Tikes at Spider Kelley’s in Clarendon, VA The Elpis Foundation would like to thank all who participated and donated, and invite everyone to the 3rd Annual Strikes For Tikes Bowl-A-Thon, tentatively scheduled for March 24th, 2012.
